Three-Tier Recycling System: Simplifying Material Complexity

Tier 1: Basic materials like cottons, wools, polyesters, and nylons are repurposed for new garment manufacturing. This allows direct re-entry of these fabrics into the fashion supply chain.

Tier 2: More complex or blended materials such as flame-resistant fabrics, low-grade polyesters, and cotton blends are remanufactured into non-garment products like insulation, geotextiles, wall partitions, and soundboarding.

Tier 3: When neither reuse nor remanufacture is viable, certain materials like buckles, top buttons, or plastic cap peaks are converted into chips, which can be melted to create polyester fabrics or utilized for RDF (refuse-derived fuel), contributing to energy production in a more sustainable manner.
